Deploying the Velocity Storage Server image on a virtual machine

Before you deploy the Velocity Storage Server image on a virtual machine, ensure the following:
You have reviewed the Velocity Storage Server installation requirements and set up your vSphere host as per the requirements. Use this vSphere host to deploy and configure the Velocity Storage Server.
You have copied the VelocityStorageServer.build number.ova file, which Veritas has provided to you, to your computer. This .ova (Open Virtualization Archive) file is a virtual server with the Velocity software installed.
You have a VMware vSphere Client application installed on your computer that you want to use to deploy and configure the Velocity Storage Server. Alternatively, you can use the web client of the VMware vSphere Client application.
To deploy the Velocity Storage Server image on a virtual machine
Log in to your local computer that you want to use to deploy and configure the Velocity Storage Server.
Launch the VMware vSphere Client application.
Enter the IP address or the name of the vCenter Server or the ESXi Server that you want to use to deploy and configure the Velocity Storage Server.
Enter the user name and password to connect to your vCenter Server or ESXi Server.
Click Login.
After connecting to the vCenter Server or the ESX Server, click File > Deploy OVF Template.
On the Source dialog, browse for the following file, and then click Next:
VelocityStorageServer.build number.ova
On the Name and Location dialog, provide a name for your Velocity Storage Server, and then click Next.
On the Storage dialog, select the destination storage that you want to use to deploy the Velocity Storage Server, and then click Next.
This storage is only required to configure and deploy the .ova file and not to store any Velocity Storage Server data.
On the Disk Format dialog, select Thick Provision, and then click Next.
On the Ready to Complete dialog, review the deployment settings that you have specified. If you want to edit any of the settings, click Back.
Click Finish.
Use VMware vSphere to add any meta or data disks that are required for your environment.
The Velocity .ova file contains only a system disk, so you should add meta or data disks as required for your environment.
Power on the virtual machine.
Now you should configure the network and storage settings.
